FRANCINE LEWIS is an Associate at Boyarski Fritz LLP with a practice that focuses on transactional and intellectual property matters for the firm’s clients in the music, fashion, branding and visual rights space.  With a focus on contract drafting and negotiation, Francine’s expertise includes the representation of recording artists, songwriters, producers, industry executives, social media-influencers, entrepreneurs, record labels, management companies, branding agreements across all platforms and other entertainment-industry-related talent and businesses.

 

Prior to joining Boyarski Fritz LLP, Francine was most recently in-house legal counsel at Authentic Brands Group LLC, where she was responsible for negotiating, structuring and drafting their entertainment and fashion brand licensing agreements, including clearance, collaboration, commission, and personal appearance agreements.  She also gained a valuable understanding of intellectual property, copyright, trademark, licensing and exclusivity-related issues in connection with some of the world’s biggest entertainment and fashion brands including Elvis Presley, Thalía Sodi, Greg Norman, Marilyn Monroe, Muhammad Ali, Shaquille O’Neal, Sports Illustrated, Juicy Couture, Herve Leger, Forever 21, Nautica, Nine West and more.

 

Before Authentic Brands Group LLC, Francine spent six years in the New York office of the boutique music law firm, The Davis Firm, PLLC, which included both a college internship, a law clerk position during law school, as well as two years as an Associate.  There, she represented music industry clients ranging from recording artists, industry executives, management companies, musicians, music publishing companies, producers, record labels, songwriters, talent agencies, and even a “Real Housewife”.  Her notable projects included executive music producer agreements for films, major endorsement agreements, a Las Vegas residency and assisting with catalogue purchase agreements.

 

Francine graduated from Brooklyn Law School, where she was awarded a Merit Scholarship, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Boston University, where she graduated with Dean’s List distinctions.

 

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Francine grew up in both South Florida and Athens, Greece. She now splits her time between New York and California.  Francine is a member of the New York State Bar with a pending admission to the California State Bar.
