JOHNNA BROOKS is an Associate at Boyarski Fritz LLP, where she handles a variety of matters across the firm's entertainment clients, with a focus on recording artists, songwriters, producers, live events, influencers and related sponsorships and endorsements, production companies, record labels, managers, distributors and music publishers.

 

Before joining Boyarski Fritz LLP, Johnna was most recently an Attorney in the legal department at NBCUniversal where she advised on marketing, advertising and production matters and the creation of innovative content campaigns.  Johnna also most recently served as an Associate at the music law firms Rogers Law Group, PLLC and James E. McMillan, P.C., where she handled a bevy of music contracts, including producer, side artist, distribution and recording agreements.  Previously, Johnna was an Associate at the Wall Street firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, LLP in the Fund Finance group, where she represented banking institutions extending hybrid credit facilities to private equity fund borrowers.

 

Johnna graduated from the Elon University School of Law, where she focused on intellectual property law.  There, she made the Dean's List, was honored with the Order of Barristers and won the National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Student Award.

Johnna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management and Marketing from the University of Delaware.  She was also the Captain of the school's Division 1 Cheerleading team where she performed and competed nationally.

Johnna currently resides in Jersey City and is admitted to the New York State Bar as well as the U.S District Court in the Eastern District of New York.
