RENATA SHIMIZU

RENATA SHIMIZU is a Paralegal at Boyarski Fritz LLP, where she supports the firm's attorneys on legal matters across the entertainment industry.  Her work focuses on assisting attorneys in advising clients in music, film, television, digital media, and related creative sectors, and involves organizing and preparing drafts and correspondence, coordinating timelines and helping to ensure continuity and responsiveness on deal flow. 
 

Prior to joining Boyarski Fritz LLP, Renata worked as an attorney in Brazil specializing in media and entertainment and intellectual property, advising audiovisual producers, cultural institutions, advertising agencies, and music projects. Her experience includes contract structuring across all stages of production, content clearance, risk assessment, licensing, and trademark portfolio management.
 

Renata holds a law degree from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) and a postgraduate degree in Intellectual Property and New Technologies from FGV Direito SP.  She also completed UCLA Extension’s Legal Primer for the Entertainment Business, further strengthening her understanding of the U.S. entertainment market.
 

She is admitted to the Brazilian Bar Association (São Paulo Section) and is fluent in Portuguese and English, with basic knowledge of Korean and Japanese. Renata is based in São Caetano do Sul, State of São Paulo, Brazil.
